How Sebastian became a gunnie

Sebastian blogs on how he became a gunnie ...

A few months later he informed me there was a sale on Romanian AK-47 clones on sale at a local gun store near him. I was surprised this was legal, since I was aware of the Assault Weapons Ban, so I started researching, and discovered what it actually banned. I went up there and bought one.

Beretta Tx4 Storm 12ga Tactical Shotgun

Beretta semi-auto shotguns are prized in the competition world, but don’t have the same presence in the “tactical shotgun” world alongside weapons such as the Remington 870 Police and Benelli’s Tactical series. Beretta is hoping to change that with the Tx4, a 12ga semi-auto with an 18″ hammer forged and chrome lined barrel, iron sights, and a top picatinny rail. Jarno of Beretta explains more in the video.

Revolver / Open Bolt Machine Gun Hybrid

Ryan emailed in this photo of a fascinating pistol. It appears to be a homemade open bolt1 machine gun revolver.

[ Many thanks to Ryan for emailing me the link. ]

  1. Open bolt refers to the fact that the bolt has a fixed firing pin and slams into the primer to fire the cartridge. This mechanism is easier to make than a closed bolt system.

The United States Army Special Operations Command will start removing the FN SCAR MK16 (5.56mm) form their inventory at the end of this year, according to a document obtained by Military.com. Virtual Gunsmith: Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Future Soldier

Red Storm Entertainment demoed the Gunsmith feature of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at E3. This is the first time I have seen a game where I could replace internal gun parts. I can't wait to play it.

Back in April I blogged about the Red Storm team having fun at the range.
