GemTax Day

To ‘celebrate’ tax day, GemTech is offering to pay the $200 BATFE tax stamp on behalf all customers who purchase their GEMTECH TREK-T 5.56mm suppressor on April 18th, 2011 through the end of the month! This suppressor costs $1,100.

GemTax TREK-T

The TREK-T is primarily design for use with the 5.56x45mm NATO round, but is suitable for smaller caliber and lower powered rounds such as the .22 LR and .22 WMR.

The suppressor is 10.3 OZ. That is considerable less weight than a lot other brands out there. As a rule of thumb you’ll paid a high premium for reducing a few ounce in the gun world.

Anyway I’m thinking about getting one.

Gemtech will probably do one next year on tax day, just like they did it last year with a different model. Keep that in mind if you’re in the market for suppressor.

Id rather pay $200 dollars for the tax stamp and they pay $1100 for the suppressor.

Considering the actual cost of suppressor components and simplicity of labor, it could be done at the $400 level. It would take volume production to achieve the profit levels necessary, but it’s not impossible.

What is the contract price on the issue Korean surpressor?

Ouch… So tempting, but it isn’t the cost of the tax that prevents me from buying a Gemtech.
