EOTech XPS2-2 Review

Gunsumer Reports has reviewed the EOTech XPS2-2 Review …

From everything I have seen, I believe the EOTech XPS2-2 is a quality product that anyone would be pleased with owning. At first I really struggled with the cost of this sight considering you only get a 1x power sight. Maybe the crutch of having high power scopes for hunting over the years had weakened the confidence in my shooting skill, but I can clearly see that with a little more practice, I could be very effective hunting with the EOTech XPS2 sight out to 200 yards. Couple that with the great field of view you get in close quarters fast action shooting and you get a sight that has a potential to take the place of many traditional hunting scopes today.

Or you could save a few hundred bucks by practicing with your iron sights to get the same results.

He’s underestimating just how accurate you can get with an EOtech. I’ve known plenty of soldiers who didn’t have difficulty with them at 300m.

Just as an aside-people tend to underestimate the human eyeball in general; think of the stories of Revolutionary War snipers who were downing British officers at +150m with unrifled weapons whose “sights” were apallingly primitive, and fired by slamming two pieces of metal together.

Follow the four fundamentals of firing and you can achieve excellent results with a 1x scope-I’ve seen KD range hits at 4 and 500 meters with EOtechs and M68s before.

Unless you have lousy eyesight like myself that is.

I remember shooting at the KD range back in the day with iron sights.

EoTech and Aimpoint 1x sights make that job even easier.

William C.: Lasik is your friend. :p

Chris-yeah, the EOtech is really a wonderful piece of equipment. They used to be standard issue at my company in 10th Mtn for grenadiers because of how they don’t blank out the leaf sight the way the 68 or ACOG does. Then of course we got some special funding on my third deployment and bought ACOGs for everyone.

I can personally vouch for the long(er) range accuracy that can be demonstrated using an EOTech sight. The small center dot worked great for me on a RRA M4gery out to 250 yards. Turning it off and using the iron sights with my 40+ year old astigmatic eyes enlarged groups at least 200%. Red dots in general and EOTechs in particular are great for guys like me.
