"gotm4", an armorer at Virginia Arms, posted photos of the SCAR PDW at M4Carbine.net.
The ultra-short barrel combined the high mounted red dot at the end of the receiver makes it look almost sci-fi.

Christian Lowe reports that the XM806 aka. the "Lightweight .50" is on track for deployment in 2012 ...
Talk about taking a diet – the XM806 with its specially-designed tripod weighs a little over 60 lbs. That’s compared to the current M2 Heavy Barrel which comes in at a portly 120 lbs. But the General Dynamics-made XM806’s advantages go deeper than its waistline, Army officials say.
...
It is still unclear how many weapons the Army will buy, but if all goes according to plan, the service will begin fielding the bantam-weight .50cal in late 2012.
This photo was taken in 2008. The final XM806 or M806 will likely be slightly different.

The below video demonstrates a perfectly serviceable gun camera made using nothing but a sub-$10 video camera (available for around $10 or less on ebay), a rail mount and some velcro tape.
The result is a very cool video. I think I am going to have to make one of these.

Eagle-eyed reader Sean spotted a recent photo showing Marines with the Maritime Interception Operations (MIO) assault force using blue/training Brügger & Thomet MP9 submachine guns.
The caption of the photo is ...

The French Defense Ministry has posted an interesting article on their website about new products at the US Army's AUSA '10 expo. Notably, they mention a new PDW version for the SCAR. It has a very short barrel (10"?) and an H&K-style retractable stock. I like it!
Even if you don't understand the French, I recommend taking a look at the article. It has lots of great photos.

American Rifleman have gotten their hands on the Chiappa Rhino Revolver and posted a review of it online.
While the U.S. market has never shied away from “ugly” guns as long as they’re reliable, accurate and easy to shoot—just look at the success of Glock—Norton questioned whether the North American market would embrace such an “unorthodox” design, even though it was innovative. With his heart on the pulse of the American market, Norton suggested a few profile changes, including a snub-nose variant, and prototypes were turned around almost immediately.
Heh.
Daniel Defense and Vickers Tactical have teamed up to produce a set of training videos. The first in the series is Carbine I and Carbine II. Each costs $40 for the DVD or $50 for the Blu-ray.
These videos are sure to draw comparisons with the Magpul Dynamics videos. I have not seen these yet but I am sure they do things slightly differently than Magpul does and that you will most likely benefit from these even if you already own the Magpul videos.
Carbine I Video Features
* Introduction
* Carbine Selection & Setup
* Basic Manipulation
* Zeroing: Shot Groups
* Shooting Positions
* Reloads
* Maintenance & Lubrication
Carbine II Video Features
* Introduction
