LaRue Tactical kit for the Ruger 10/22

img_6247-tm-tfb

LaRue Tactical is selling an upgrade kit for the Ruger 10/22 that includes a LT178 Rail, LT719 QD Ultra-Low Mount and LaRue Cheek Pad. The kit sells for $295.

I have no doubt that these rings and mount are of the best quality, but you must admit that it is quite amusing to see rings and a mount selling for more than the rifle they will be mounted on! You can get a Ruger 10/22 just $235.

My 10/22 came with a rail!
    That price is insane.

  • Brian

Agreed Steve. LaRue makes good stuff but I question their prices. LMAO that a $200 rifle needs another $300 to make it shoot…

  • Todd

Laughable. A mount for a gun that has a hard time shooting consistently in the first place that costs more than the gun itself. I wish I was Mr. LaRue or Mr. Olive Garden because it seems people like to throw money at those guys.

  • Randal

    They must be kidding.

So a few overlaid pieces of fabric (cheek-piece), a tiny strip of machined metal (rail) and two circles of metal cost $295?

Thank god they don’t build cars. :)

Oh now you are just rubbing our noses it in! $235 for a Ruger 10/22 when here in the UK I pay more for my ‘toy’ airsoft rifles! LOL

Grrrr…You Americans make me sick (….with jealousy!) ;)

Seriously, the photo is absolutely fantastic. It does seem a lot for an accessory – but when you love your rifle there are few lengths you will go to to add that ‘something special’!

Milgeek, I think those airsoft guns are expensive the world over! But point taken ;)

I would love, just for the fun of it, to have a high end airsoft rifle, but whenever I have the money, I end up thinking “this should really be spent on a gun” … even through they are not the same thing.

    I’m not a gun expert, but I’ve handled the G3;
Wouldn’t such an amount of money be better spent on a scope for a G3, even neutered into semi-auto, only?

  • gunslinger

    not bad… but i guess it’s no different than a $2000 ACOG on a $6-900 AR-15

You can get a new 10/22 for $235 but I suspect those who buy this kit might have a completely tricked out and customized rifle. Or maybe even a Volquartsen.

Pricey indeed! ….. but trust me, they will sell. The 10/22 fanboys are just salivating (sp?) over this one!

  • Ryan

    Wow… what a deal!

  • Popcorn

And then you still gotta buy the scope? Heheh. That will make for a very expensive Appleseed experience for sure.

  • Jim

That is absolutely silly. What a rip off.

  • ap

The 10/22 crowd know this setup outdoes the capability of the basic models. Putting this on anything without a floated bbl. is probably a waste.

  • Mu

Since there are people that put a $200 trigger, a $300 stock and0 a $200 barrel on those rifles, that’s not totally unexpected. I saw one picture with the comment “the only thing stock is the magazine”. You can spent more money tricking out a 10/22 than a Honda Civic.

I’m at $1300 for the 10/22 I bought to eradicate my raccoon problem:

The rifle + threaded barrel + Gemtech Outback II supressor + Hogue stock + red dot + ____’in ATF NFA tax.

Lucky I’m a gun nut, or else I’d be kicking myself for not buying a $50 trap!

  • Matthew

No one has ever accused Mark LaRue of having good sense.

  • jdun1911

Custom 10/22 can get up there. I’ve seen some built that are over 3k.

  • Wuulf

    @Matthew-

On the contrary, people will buy this. People have been wanting something like this for a while, just because its LaRue. This isn’t for the truck gun, this is for those guys that spend more on their 10/22′s than they would on a centerfire of any caliber, style, or purpose. So it makes perfect sense that a company that is primarily in the business of optic mounts do something for this platform.

  • Matthew

Wuulf, I know that people will buy it. I have spent more on one of my 10/22′s than a lot of people spend on their center rifles as well. Let me drop half the subtly and put it this way – if LaRue took a $1,375 ounce of gold, put a LaRue stamp on it, and sold it for $100 I wouldn’t buy it.
