I am always very hesitant to blog photos or videos made by jihadists, but I think this video could hardly be considered propaganda and does has some educational value.

No it means allah is great or the greatest. The meaning that you’re deriving from it is the one where people are sensationalizing the difference in their “god” versus God.

You know why the mortar going off in the tube? Because those munition are old and very unstable. With that said I doubt it is a wide spread problem.

They make excuses, like it doesn’t come from a factory, or the factory is not up to par, or it’s been modified, or it made by the Chinese (which by the way produce nice Kalashnikov), or the metal is not up to spec (Kalashnikov are made out of 1mm sheet metal), or whatever.

I agree with AK Fanboy that it takes a lot of force to rip the front trunnion off. The only thing that is left from the AK was the pistol grip (I think). It is an interesting video and too bad there not more information about it.

Ahh, I get it now. I don’t think you completely understood what was implied by my comment. With the way I twisted the words around, your literal translation is correct, though not exactly what I meant. What I meant was that perhaps the guy would have taken the kaboom as a sign to reconsider the will of the god that he thought he was serving, as if to take back what he said just before firing. I did not mean to say that one god is not as great as another, even if i believe so, I did not meant to offend.

There are several really good videos on the internet of journalists visiting tribal arms bazaars and the weapons they examine are a crazy mix of super old Enfields and Russian surplus along with tons of knock offs.

The gun pretty thoroughly obliterated itself, but it didn’t seem to seriously injure the shooter – a pity in this case – but generally speaking that’s about the best you could hope for.
Not an AKMS. It looks like a Hungarian AMD-65 with an AK lower handguard and the muzzlebrake removed.
Who knows what other changes have been made to it that might be partly or wholly responsible for the blow-up.
the last part, the one that they are yelling, was “allah akhbah” (don’t know the correct spelling) which means as much as “god is great”.

It was most likely a Pakistani forgery, they look ok but function.. well pretty much like that. So as one of the AK “Fanboys” as you say, I’m not all butthurt and still think my SGL20 is one of the best rifles made. I’m just never buying from Pakistan..

This reminds me of a story about replacing a bullet in a round with an explosive detonator. This round is then put into a discarded AK mag that is picked up by an unsuspecting enemy and used to disastrous effects!

Not the AK’s fault, but the ammo. Possibly the rumored booby-trapped rounds we may or may not have dropped there?
I have heard that during Vietnam, US forces would take 7.62×39 and 7.62×54 ammunition and replace the powder with high explosives, then leave it some place where the opposition would find it. When fired, the ammo would blow up the gun and quite possibly injure or kill the operator as well.
I wonder if this is the result of something similar.

I’ve heard that the Israelis will surreptitiously distribute booby-trapped ammo that is intended for the bad guys. Rounds that will make your firearm go kaboom.
I’m amazed at how cleanly it just popped apart.
This AK “fanboy” would say that weapon is unlikely to be any kind of a real factory AK but probably one basically handmade in the Pakistan tribal areas. The guns they make LOOK like the real thing right down to them even emulating Russian or US proof marks and manufacturer logos (but with frequent misspellings) but hardly come close to the genuine item’s metallurgy or parts tolerances.
There are several really good videos on the internet of journalists visiting tribal arms bazaars and the weapons they examine are a crazy mix of super old Enfields and Russian surplus along with tons of knock offs.

Pretty obvious. Someone didn’t heat treat that Khyber Pass special receiver and it stretched during firing, causing an out of battery to happen. Happens to any gun. I could post videos of AR’s kabooming too. Friggin morons…
The AK can be handled by ignorant users. But Jihadist may be too ignorant and stupid for a AK even. Lets hope this happens to all Taliban fighters, Or maybe its just crappy Chi com AKs lol.
