To the Vets: Thank You
Thank you for all your sacrifices.
Ira Hayes, the Pima Indian from Arizona who helped raise the flag at Iwo Jima, did not have the right to vote at the time that picture was taken. Indians did not get the right to vote in Arizona and New Mexico until 1948. Indian became US citizens in 1924.

From a veteran to those who said “Thank you” . . .
on behalf of (almost) all of us: You’re welcome.

0As a Veteran myself, it warms my heart to see these messages of thanks. Having said that, I will add one. Thank you to all other Veterans, past and present, and thank you to those that support us.

0Never forget
Those that have died,
Those that will cry,
Or those that lied to make them die
Never forget it could happen again.
There’s my stab at poetry
My deepest respect.

0I see a lot of “Support the Troops” bumper stickers every day; I wonder what some of these folks actually do. I don’t have a bumper sticker, but here’s where I show my support:

Support means doing something.

0My family and I thank all Veterans for their service… They are the foundation of this great country… I lost a good man and Marine this year. My farther was 85 yrs old and shot down a couple of Zeros in WWII on the USS Saratoga. He manned his 40mm quad. so he could afford me and all of us a chance at a great life. He was just kid caught in a profound moment in history. He had both great times and horrid moments that he carried for a life time.
I will never forget….

0God bless our armed forces, past and present. God bless the United States of America.

0They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
