The Peruvian Army has signed a "Technology Cooperation Agreement" with IWI that gives them a license to develop, produce and market the new Galil ACE rifle.
Presumably the Peru Army plans on adopting the Galil ACE. Currently they use a mix of small arms which include IWI's Galil and Uzi.
The Galil ACE is the latest direct descendant of the AK-47. It features modern ergonomics, plenty of picatinny rails and is available in a range of calibers.

Noveske Rifleworks has ceased selling 300 Fireball barrels and instead will be shipping .300 AAC BLK barrels for the AR-15. The barrels have an attractive stainless steel bead blast finish, a medium contour, 1:8" twist, include an installed gas block and will be offered in 10" and 16" lengths. The 10" is selling for $365 and the 16" for $455.
Noveske says on their website that certain Noveske 300 Fireball barrels will safely fire the .300 BLK ...
300 AAC BLACKOUT ammunition is safe to use in Noveske 300 FB barrels with a serial number of 290000 and higher.
Noveske 300 FB barrels with a serial number less than 290000 or without a serial number will need to be checked before using 300 AAC BLACKOUT ammunition. We will be setting up a program to send in older barrels for inspection and reaming if needed.
The Israeli firm RVTT Reshef Technology has developed a range of 3D targets for military training.
From the press release ...
The new 3D targets, RESHEF RVTT 3039, are realistic, visual 3D infantry targets for dry/live-fire training of military combat forces and police anti-terror special units, such as SWAT teams. The multi-spectral target, designed for day and night training, has passive thermal reflective capability and provides users with a realistic thermal picture. Radar and laser signatures can be provided as an option.
The RESHEF RVTT 3039 targets are positioned in the field training area, using various battlefield scenarios. The target’s unique features create a realistic atmosphere – a real battlefield look and feel – in all weather conditions.
I think LEO and civilians engaging in tactical-style training would enjoy using these target.
The Weatherby SA-08 Entre Rios is a 28 gauge version of the SA-08 autoloader shotgun. The 28 gauge cartridge is popular in part because it allows the action to be scaled down, resulting in a lighter gun. Weatherby has scaled the SA-08 down to a weight of 5.25 lbs.
The gun comes with either a 26" or 28" barrel. The MSRP is $749.
The BBC reports ...
A pistol held by Sean Connery as James Bond in a poster to promote the 1963 film From Russia With Love has sold at auction for £277,250.
The Walther air pistol fetched more than 10 times its estimate of £15,000-£20,000 at Christie's in London on Thursday.
This holster design is quite clever. The weight of the gun is transferred to the belt, but sitting above the belt it allows greater freedom of movement.
The holster is compatible with most compact handguns up to 6.5" in length. It sells for $70.
Brian emailed me a photo he took in September of a gun shop in Crescent, Oregon
Not seen in the photo is a sign for live bait.
Brain says that the store is run by "a really nice old couple".
UPDATE: The stores website is here.

A reader email in a scan of McDonnell Douglas advertising material that promoted the McDonnell Douglas Scorpion. The scorpion was one of the entries in the US Army's Multi-Purpose Individual Munition (MPIM) competition in the 80s. This (in my opinion) ridiculous weapon weighed more than the gun it was attached to!
It was obviously not designed by a rifleman.
