I know it comes with a lot of accessories, but still that IS expensive. I wonder what kind of people will buy that. It is rather out of the price range of most gun enthusiasts (ie : me or anyone who enjoys weapons but also has to eat and pay the rent), “AR-people” know where to find something equivalent for half the price (and they most likely already have piles of plastic-injected magpul accessories) and the people I can typically see buying ultra expensive weapons won’t most likely be interested by an AR.

The “kind” of people Vickers is looking for are those who fix printers for a living and argue about things on AR15.com.

It is very expensive given the cost of buying a setup ala carte and selecting your own optics, etc, etc! $3k puts you in OBR range and would build a decent AR10 with optics.

I would like to know who is buying $3k AR15s!

Does that big gut come as an accessory? How do you go from former operator to that? Says a lot about someone…

  • Lance

    Looks nice but expensive.

There is a complete list on the website. It’s fairly price IMO.

T1 micro with the mount probably cost over $700.

It has cold forged barrel which isn’t cheap about $400.

Daniel Defense M4A1 FSP RIS II almost $400

    Surefire X300 Flashlight $250

VLTOR IMod Buttstock with extension tube, H buffer, spring over $200 (because of H buffer)

    Daniel Defense ConVert Grip $90

Daniel Defense A1.5 Fixed Rear Sight $60

    BCMGUNFIGHTER Charging Handle $50

    Surefire Flash Suppressor $130

Magpul MIAD Pistol Grip $35 (discontinue)

Magpul MOE Trigger Guard $8 (why not use the MOE grip instead of MIAD if they are going with the MOE Trigger Guard. There is no reason not to and it cost effective).

Daniel Defense Rear Receiver QD Swivel Attachment Point $50

Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Applications Sling $50

    Case probably over $100

    Rail cover around $30

    Bolt Carrier Group $140

    Upper Receiver: $70

Lower Receiver $150 or so (not sure how Enhanced Flared Magazine Well are)

    You guys add it up.

Yeah Mr. Vicker should not be doing commercials. He is no R. Lee Ermey.

A lot of AR15 after modding will turn into 3k or more.

Agreed that the price is about right. My two AR’s pretty much got close to that spending if not more after all was said and done; easily done if you keep finding new parts that better conform to your own shooting preferences than the ones you thought were good at the time.

Although I’m curious about limited run special edition AR’s (not just this one). Other than full-autos, are there actually any that increase in value other than vintage Colts?

  • Alan

    $2913 by your numbers.

I’ve seen plenty of out-of-shape former operators-a few in AWG. Their physical condition does not mean they are not experts in their fields.

About pricing-given that a grand is about average for your ARs nowadays, a 3-grand price for a highly upscale one isn’t too surpring. Hell, a 4x ACOG is gonna bump your price to easily 2 grand, and that’s without any of the other doodads on that rifle.

The AWG rifles I’ve seen are my “dream rifle”, though. It’s a stock M4A1 with:

    -DD free-floating rail
    -ACOG with Doctor backup sight
    -Surefire Scout Light and compensator
    -Magpul pistol grip
    -LMT SOPMOD stock
    -V-tac 2-point sling

And for those who are curious-right now I’m in HHC, 4th BDE 3rd ID.

My current user-owned accessories are an Arredondo Arms flared magwell, ErgoGrip pistol grip, Surefire 9P, and Magpul AFG.

I don’t think it’s grossly overpriced, plus it’s limited edition.

My DDM4 V1 was around $1,400 w/ out optics or anything like that.
