The Folding/Adjustable stock sells for $150. If you don't mind the Magpul MOE-style handguard it is much cheaper to purchase the basic ACR model, which sells for about $400 less than the enhanced model, and upgrade it with the foldable stock.

Bushmaster says more accessories, including barrels, will be available in coming weeks.

London 2012 Games to use Laser Guns for Pentathlon

The BBC reports that the Pentathlon event will replace air pistols with laser guns. The quotes by Klaus Schormann, president of the sports governing body, are particularly illuminating (emphasis mine)...

"We can now hold competitions in parks and shopping malls."

"Based on this new technology, all countries in the world can compete in our sport.

"They [the laser guns] will be easier to carry around and to take on aeroplanes. It's the way of the future."

Using a laser is not shooting. They should just go right ahead and drop "shooting" from the sport.

Ruger SR556 Review

Vuurwapen Blog reviews the Ruger SR556. Part 1. Part 2. The video review is below ...

I have used one and I liked it. A common complaint is that is heavy, which it is, but this is not necessarily a bad thing and comes down to personal preference.

Tactilite T2 : Magazine-Fed .50 BMG Upper Receiver for AR-15s

Zel Custom's Tactlite T2 has finally gone into production. Legally, it is a firearm accessory and not a actual firearm because it mounts on an AR-15 lower receiver. This means you need no paper work to purchase the T2.

From the press release ...

Zel Custom Manufacturing introduces the Tactilite T2, a magazine-fed, bolt-action .50 BMG conversion for AR-15 style rifles. The T2 utilizes a side-mounted magazine design (similar to a Sten gun) on Zel Custom’s unique steel billet upper receiver. As a “firearms accessory”, the Tactilite T2 .50 BMG conversion kit requires no special paperwork, background check or waiting period.

...

The T2 receiver is CNC-machined from solid 4140 steel bar stock, heat treated for greater strength and durability, and features an integrated scope rail, for superior accuracy. The T2 comes standard with a 7075 aluminum quad-rail, black CeraKote finish and one 5-round Accuracy International magazine. Available options include choice of Mossberg or Lothar-Walther barrels, choice of barrel contour and choice of right- or left-handed receiver. Prices start at $2298.
