Find a gun store or FFL on your iPhone

Olav, who blogs at Firearms and Training, has developed a nifty iPhone application which allows you to find nearby gun stores and FFLs.

With over 60,000 records kept up-to-date from data provided directly from the ATF, this is the most comprehensive easy-to-use application to look up any FFL information quickly and easily. If you are a gun enthusiast and want to know about retail gun information in your area or any area, if you want to discover new gun sources or just want to see what's around you, this is the iPhone application for you!

It looks very useful. The app is selling for $9.99 in the iTunes Store.

    Price reduced to $3.99.

Part of the price reflects the fact that the FFL database in the application is kept up-to-date every month with the ATF’s published list of FFL license holders.

This list changes every month with existing FFL holders information changes such as address info, phone info etc, new FFL license holders added and expired holders removed.

    Thanks!

Nice app…probably even a fair price considering what we pay for firearms…but still a little steep for what iPhoners are used to paying for apps. I would buy for $.99, but unfortunately not $9.99.

I’m not clear from the description as to whether this will be useful or not. I’ve tried using my GPS’ search feature (for things like “Arms” or “Guns”) and I usually wind up with some dude’s house. Does this app actually differentiate between retail stores, kitchen counter dealers, and plain old FFLs?

Hmm, I wonder how this will effect the independent gun owner who purchased a FFL so they could order cheap firearms and ammo? Will their home address pop up on this App?
