Disclosure: Remington is now advertising on The Firearm Blog
The Freedom Group is now using my blog to advertise Remington products. This will not effect my coverage of The Freedom Group or their competitors. I cover all firearms manufacturers with equal enthusiasm.
It is great to have the biggest player in the industry seeing value in my blog.
UPDATE: I have gotten messages from people concerned that I will ban all comments criticizing Remington or I will refuse to write anything critical. I can assure you that my editorial policy has not changed. The Freedom Group purchased ad space, not my integrity.

Very cool, Steve! I’m happy for ya =)
@greasyjohn – LOLZ
i do hope the gentlemen at remington are taking due note of the positive comments here.
Congrats! This blog is always a pleasure to visit, and it’s great to see recognition like that.
I’m confident Steve’s style/writing/objectivity will not change….
The blog is what it is: good enough to attract many passionate firearm owners who visit regularly.
If Steve would somehow change any of the aforementioned due to advertising, said passionate firearm owners/blog readers would leave site.
And so would Remington.
This is all stating the overly-obvious, of course. All Steve has to do is be himself and the rest will take care of itself. Except now he’s been rewarded with a little coin. Good job!
Congratulations … be fair, and always be truthful.
I, for one, welcome our new Freedom Group Overlords.
Congrats on the recognition! Now if you made this place a subscription only servcie I’d be very displeased.
Because I’m a lazy gun-otaku and I don’t wanna do effort when catching up on the most recent things in the firearms world.
remington helping pay the rent? no problem with that here.
I’m waiting for Firearmblog games and prizes!
Congrats!
Congratulations! Keep up the good work.
Grats on the big client!
You have (in my minds eye) the best gun blog out there. Always interesting and with great topic variety. I hope it continues to grow.
Good job and congratulations!
Thanks for the disclosure and welcome to Remington! And congrats to Steve for having such and awesome blog that you can attract Remington.
Hey, they make good products…
AWESOME! Congratulations Steve!
Will you get any exclusive content on remington firearms?
Congratulations, Steve!
This is a very positive recognition of your hard work and I hope other gunmakers will follow in Remington’s footsteps. Hopefully, this association will also be a positive way for Remington to get feedback on their products and for them to talk to potential buyers about changes / improvements that they make in their product line.
Best of all, I see a lot of breaking news here – now that Marlin and Dakota are a part of the Remington stable, the future looks even better!
Congrats!
Tell them to start selling H&R barrels in Canada. If they sell the guns they should sell the barrels dangit.
Just read your muzzle comment, good to know.
Woot! Well done Steve! Money, money, money! It is fantastic that you’re finally being financially rewarded for all of your hard work.
Does this mean we can no longer bash Remington / Bushmaster products in the comments section?
I am glad you are getting some of the well deserved attention but I just hope we can all agree Bushmaster FUBAR’d the ACR as we did before the freedom group began investing!
Brad, you can say what you like (within reason) in the comments, but I have always been slightly-pro-ACR. Mostly because I never believed the low-price point that they kept preaching about. So when the price was announced it was exactly what I expected. Just about everyone else was incredibly disappointed.
Just to clarify: Remington is buying ad space: not a muzzle.
I agree it’s good to hear that you have been recognized by the big dogs.
That is so cool! Good to see that you´re getting something out from this.
