Palm Pistol in 3D
Sebastian has posted a nifty 3D model of the Palm Pistol. You can hide parts so see how it works inside.

How awesome is this ad from AAC? Remington, who own AAC, would be wise to get the AAC crew to design some ads for their consumer firearms.

Last year Glock was successfully sued over a faulty G36 pistol which Glock refused to admit was faulty. Chris advertised the gun for sale (for parts) and it was purchased by a gunsmith named John.
John has done his own thorough analysis of the pistol to determine if it was indeed faulty or, as Glock and some fanboys claimed, Chris just did not know how to use a pistol correctly. His results were very similar to Chris. On average about 5% of rounds either failed to fire or failed to extract. Unfortunately it is still a mystery why this is happening.
Read John's analysis here (The Acrobat.com website takes a while to load).

This is why I only ever use an Apple Authorized Service Provider to fix my laptop.
Read about the guns used over at the Guns and Ammo blog.
The AK47 Talk blog posted a link to an auction on Gun Broker for a rare AK-74 quad stack magazine. It hit $900 but the reserve was not met! Lets hope that the Magpul quad magazine is cheaper ![]()
This diagram is apparently from the magazine's patent ...

For the 2010 offering, Steyr’s Jeff Cooper Scout Rifle Commemorative Package is chambered in .308 Win., exactly as Col. Cooper conceived, and it sets in the original “Scout Gray” stock highlighted by the “JC” crest-of arms. A 2.5X 28mm Leopold Scout scope is attached to the integral top rail via Steyr mounts. An attached Galco Ching Sling is also inscribed with the “JC” crest, as is the Boyt TAC541 soft case and the Boyt H44 hard case. The latter also boasts the Steyr Arms logo. To finish off the package, a hardbound copy of Cooper’s Art Of The Rifle is also included. The package has an MSRP of $2,975. Serial numbers begin at JC001, and sequential numbers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 300 will be available.
I have always wanted a Steyr Scout, but there are guns I want more at that price.

These photos were taken in 2005 by MisterPX of his custom AR-15 after 15,000 rounds of Wolf ammunition. He had lubed it every 1000 rounds but not cleaned it. A thousand rounds later a bolt lug sheared off and two magazines after that a second lug was lost and at that point he decided to terminate the experiment before something disastrous happened.
MisterPX said ...
Those are my pics. I took those around the 15K mark. Broke a bolt lug around 16K, second lug broke after another mag or two, then I terminated my experiment. Interestingly enough, the bolt release broke in that 15-16 range as well.
...
... barrel was Bushy, BCG was M1S, think upper rec. was as well. Lower was a RRA, do not recall who's LPK.
There is a discussion about this rifle and others at ARFCOM.

Tony Williams, the co-editor of Jane’s Ammunition Handbook, gave a presentation entitled "The Next Generation: The Case for a New NATO Rifle and Machine Gun Cartridge" at the National Defense Industries Association (NDIA) Joint Armaments Conference last month. He has posted an extended version of the presentation on his website. It is well worth reading.
This is for all you pistol bayonet fans (Ed, I am looking at you!). The 1911 Black Window from Reeder Custom Guns features a big skull-crushing spike.
This pitch black beauty comes chambered in the ever popular 45 ACP, features a full custom Caspian slide with Novak Tritium front sight and low profile Bomar rear. The frame is a custom STI frame with a Tactical Impact Spike milled into it. After the popularity of Kase's Vampyre Slayer he figured he needed something for all the rest of the less than desirable creatures of the night, thus the Tactical Impact Spike. Run out of ammo? No big deal, just drive the Tactical Impact Spike right between the slimeballs beady little eyes and you have instant creature sushi.
The price is $2395 and there is a 5 month lead time.
