French FELIN optics on HK416 and FN SCAR

tmp_felin_optics-tm-tfb

At the Eurosatory 2010 defense expo Sagem (part of SAFRAN) were showing off their new FÉLIN optics fitted on the FN SCAR and HK416. This is the first photo I have seen showing FÉLIN optics on a rifle other than the FAMAS. The French FÉLIN program is roughly equivalent to the United States Future Soldier program.

Too bulky a ACOG or Leopold CQT is a far sleaker and compact optic.

I really hope i can get a hold of one of these

UGLY, i wonder what it would look like on a FAMAS though, remove the handle (or give it a rail handle like the g36) and it might look neat, if only the FAMAS was functional

I think it’s telling that they are showing FELIN on HK416 and SCAR.

One of those two weapons will be the most probable replacement for the FAMAS, or will the french make updated FAMAS G2?

That’s a lot of weight added to the firearm. What make is so special?

    • http://www.thefirearmblog.com Steve

      jdun1911, it is a day/night optic.

  • Aurelien

Night/day optic, mixing thermal and IR like the PSQ-20.

There is another optic with deported video sight. Much heavier.
