Brownells AR-15 Magazine Testing

If any of the sample magazines fail the full auto test, the entire batch must be destroyed!

    There good mags alluminum are just as good as P-Mags you just need to take care of them. I want that bucket of brass they have thought.

    Bad magazine IMO is the leading cause of malfunctions for AR15.

    Here is an interesting article that you might want to check out. He stated that 80% of M4 malfunctions are cause by magazine and worn out parts. The other 20% were cause by high cycle rate which can be taken care off with a heavy spring, heavy buffer, and O-ring on the extractor (probably the most important upgrade for SBR and AR in general).

    Keep in mind he use a FailZero BCG (Bolt Carrier Group) kit that retail at around $800 IIRC. It is a self lubricant BCG. Normal BCG require lubricant.

    wow, sounds like a big waste of ammunition to me. How can firing that many rounds be a cost effective way to test the magazines?

    I get from that commercial that they make thoroughly tested magazines for the military and that they also make magazines for the civilian market. There is no information whatsoever about how those get tested.
