H&K MR556 listed on Gun Broker

An enthusiast entrepreneurial gun dealer from Luxemburg, WI has listed a H&K MR556 (the semi-auto H&K 416) on Gun Broker with a Buy Now price of $2,995. He admits that he will not receive delivery of the rifle until next month.

In February I broke the news that the HK556 would have an MSRP of $2,995. Once the rifles hit the shelves the price should fall below the MSRP.

H&K really brought out the benefits to the general public with the piston driven system and it RAILED to be what we needed for our next weapon for the military, eventhough they didn’t invent the piston system. With all that hype for this so called NEW weapon they introduced in the 416, we still couldn’t buy one today for any price and it’s been how long now?YEARS LATER. What is the problem with H&K? For this company to make the public wait 3 years while other high quality piston guns are selling left and right makes you wonder how much $$$ they have forfeited to rival makers of the same design. And they so called put the piston on the map. And also ask the public to pay a good bit more?

One of cop at Arfcom stated that the LPK (lower parts kit) replacement cost them $400 for their HK416 IIRC. He stated it look like the same part kits that they get for $50.

Keep that in mind when you order any parts from HK.

Do you get anything more for that extra thousand bucks this thing costs compared to a Ruger or LWRC? I doubt it. Just paying the extra cost of running a business out of the German welfare state, plus the extra premium for the H&K name.

I’ll save my money for something else.

$3k is still a lot of dough for an AR — even a piston one made by zee Germans. I never thought anyone would go out of their way to make LWRC’s goods look inexpensive.

At least he’s offering a full refund if the rifles don’t arrive by the end of August. Unlike the ACR pricing fiasco, people know that H&K stuff is usually high dollar, so the 3k price tag doesn’t come as too much of a shock.

BTW, I’m now taking orders for Pulsed Phased Plasma Rifles in the 40 Watt range for only $10,000 each. Delivery date is Judgement Day 2019, but if they haven’t arrived by then, you can have a full refund, depending on whether or not you’ve been killed by robots and / or nuclear fire.
