Magpul iPhone Case

I can't believe I did not see these at SHOT. Midway USA has them on backorder. Expected ship date is the 29th.

Photos by eringobragh

Extreme Tolerance points out that shipping from Midway USA comes to $8, nearly doubling the effective price of the $9.45 case.

UPDATE: Todd points out that basic USPS ship option was only $3.19

UPDATE: Review of the case over at Jason's blog.

Benelli MR1 (European version)

The civilian version of the Benelli MR1 Carbine was launched last year in the United States. It will go on sale in Europe at the end of April. The European model will probably make US owners jealous! In Europe the MR1 will come in two barrel lengths, 12.5" or 16", and with either an adjustable stock or hunting stock (only the 16" barrel and a fixed stock is available in the United States).

The MRSP is 1300 EUR (about $1800). (There is a bit of confusion regarding the correct price.)

Effectiveness of suppressed shotguns

Recently I questioned the effectiveness of suppressed shotguns. This is what a reader sent me ...

I read the article about the suppressed shotgun and your question about the effectiveness of the sound reduction. Then I remembered a brochure I picked up at the IWA guntrade-fair in Neurenberg-Germany some years ago about the Laporte Swing Trap shotgun with the integrated suppressor, which reduces 15 % noise with standard ammo and up to 75 % with subsonics. I can not validate this claim because I have only held the gun at the IWA and never fired it, but maybe it is of interest to the readers of the blog.

The company does not appear to manufacture them anymore.

UPDATE: Mark sent me the patent for the Laporte shotgun suppressor. It is an interesting design. Also of note is that the shotgun has a very short barrel (relative to the normal length of these trap guns). The PDF can be viewed after the jump.

Sleeve Gun

Obviously this is not for use with a real gun.

The video's description makes little sense when translated from Japanese to English, but here it is for what it is worth ...

Nervous prototype parts have been assembled from the factory, complete reconditioning. We are currently in volume production. First I can only say with one hundred pieces. Mexican cops using C-Mags?

I have not seen cops using them before. Maybe they procured the magazine from a busted gangster. The Mexican drug lords seem to be fond of them.
