Ruger GP100 and Blackhawk in .327 Federal Magnum
Ruger has embraced the .327 Federal Magnum and added it to their line of GP100 and Blackhawk revolvers.
Each gun chambered in the .327 Fed Mag can also chamber the .327 H&R Magnum, .32 S&W Long and .32 S&W.
The .327 GP100 will retail for $701 and the Blackhawk for $681.
It’s a shame they aren’t planning to make the .327 GP100 in a 3 inch version. I’ve long thought that the 3-inch barreled GP100′s are one of Ruger’s most elegant weapons, but unfortunately they don’t make very many and they are hard to find.
This is neat, but it’s a shame they don’t make a .30 Carbine/.327 Blackhawk Combo. Plus and optional .32-20 Cylinder! That would be neat!
I think Ruger should start making the SP101 in 9×19 again.
I’m glad to hear that the caliber is profitable enough for them to offer it in different guns. A real interesting weapon would be a Desert Eagle or similar auto-mag chambered in .327, or better yet, a lever-carbine to go with it.
I don’t know much about the 327. How do the CCW folks like it for self defense? Is it capable of taking a deer cleanly?
Taking a deer? Not cleanly but I haven’t tried it on anything but paper goblins. I like it though, and it’s nice to have a decent power small frame with six rounds in it. The eight round Blackhawk is making me salivate.
Power aside I think the .32 hole is too small to be humane for hunting. Maybe out of a rifle of somekind but from my 2in barrel? No way.
Ugh, that .327 eight-shot Blackhawk, what were they thinking. A 46.8 oz (!!) gun that shoots a .32 diameter bullet? Terrible idea. Might as well haul around a boat anchor.
At most Ruger should have chambered the .327 in the slightly smaller, mid-frame 50th anniversary Blackhawk. Make it a 6- or 7-shooter. Better still would have been a Single Six in .327.
People want practical, carryable guns that are at least somewhat proportional to the caliber. The three-pound stainless clunk of a thirty-two completely fails that test.
I’m less disappointed by the .327 GP100 at 41 oz, but still probably will not buy one.
I guess I’m not a person because I want this gun.
I vote for a 5 or 6 shot single six , 45/8-51/2-61/2 bbls.

I wouldn’t mind having a rifle like the deerfiels in 327. It would have better balistics than the MI carbine
I like the idea of a 327 in a lever carbine! Should be much better then the revolver, ballisticly speaking. It would be a river bottom venison getter! I can’t understand why it isn’t being offered yet, by anyone, that I am aware of. If anybody has other info, please speak up!
In a revolver, my data shows it would be legal, in NE, for deer, (400 ft-lbs @ 50 yards). Pick the right bullet, and data, keep your range reasonable for a handgun, place the shot right, and it will be venison for dinner!!!!
It all boils down to “I want one BAD!”
BTW….. Ruger offers the 327 in the SP101 also! Smaller and lighter, just as requested.

It is actually pretty simple why no one is offering this round in a carbine or rifle. Winchester is out of business. Marlin has announced that it is closing.
The foreign companies might eventually get around to it but there is just nobody making traditional leverguns left in the USA. Ruger might surprise us but if they make one it probably would not be a traditional looking carbine like the ’92 Winchester of 1894 Marlin.
