The Sunday Smith is back!
After a nearly 6 months hiatus I was very pleased see a new post at Tam's The Arms Room. Her latest blog post in the Sunday Smith series covers the S&W Number 1 revolver.

“her post”?
I’m sure that was an advanced pistol design in its day, but that exposed trigger scares the bejeezus out of me.
Woodman, the exposed trigger doesn’t matter much since it is a single-action-only gun. You must manually pull the hammer back before it can fire. Pulling the trigger while the hammer is down will have absolutely no effect.
As a side note, I saw one of the old S&W 22 tip-up revolvers (re-nickeled) at a gun show about a year ago for just $100. That was before I knew what it was and I still can’t stop kicking myself for passing it.
