Also, the Internet Archive, "a nonprofit digital library, and home to a giant archive of the public web since 1996" has increased their webspidering and archival efforts of Geocities. On this page http://www.archive.org/web/geocities.php you can check if they've archived a given site, and recommend ones for them to do so if they haven't yet.
