MGI Quick Change Barrel (QCB) AR-15

MG Industries have developed an interesting quick change barrel / takedown upper receiver for the AR-15.

Tam has got her hands on one of them and has an interesting discussion going on about it on her blog.

    FWIW: The MGI modular uppers and lowers have been on the market for quite awhile now.

    LMT has had one for a bit now too. I’ll stick to good old fashioned threaded on barrel though.

    Doesn’t the 30+ year old Steyr AUG come standard with a quick change barrel system? What’s new?
