No, I don't mean cartridges, I mean springs, followers, etc.. Yes, they could be defective, but they are probably left overs or an over run at the last minute when the Russians switched to the ALL BLACK mags. Though if not defective, you're right, I could just cry seeing these things abused like this :-( :-( :-( On the "theAKforum.net" it was reported that a guy/company in the UK was selling these and mailing them to buyers in the US for $11 a piece + shipping. I got 11 of them for $121 + shipping. They were all Tula made, still had ink stamps on them and one was even a long top!! WOO HOO!!!!!!! I now have 4 complete sets of bakelite mags. 1. 3 x Izhevsk flat back mags in the correct Russian mag pouch + one mag for the rifle 2. 3 x Izhevsk ridge back mags in the correct Russian mag pouch + one mag for the rifle 3. 3 x Tula flat back mags in the correct Russian mag pouch + one mag for the rifle 4. 3 x Tula ridge back mags in the correct Russian mag pouch + one mag for the rifle Plus I have a few extra that I take to the range and shoot with, just to SHOW OFF!! hahahaha If you look close, all those “pot hole fillers” are empty!!
