I am interested in a Beretta Cx4 Storm to compete with at a club that one can only shoot pistol caliber carbines.

Is they as good as people tell me they are, or is it hype. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.

I know that Beretta specifically has been swamped - I had the opportunity to visit the Accokeek facility recently on a business visit (sales presentation) and the staff was working frantically.

I just put money down yesterday on a Ruger 22/45 target model after waiting more than four months for an Advantage Arms 22 LR conversion kit for my Glock 19. It joins my GP 100, SP 101 and 10/22 in the collection. I would have gotten it then, but my name resembles some bad guy's, so I always have to wait several days to score. Next Wednesay is what it's looking like.

I have the px4 and agree with the first poster, it's definately underated. What a fantastic shooting pistol. It's accurate, reliable, soft recoil, inexpensive, and easy to clean. way to go beretta!

I think the PX4 is horribly ugly and it has a teeny-tiny barrel for a full sized pistol. The fact that it's their cheapest full sized pistol might be helping their sales.

I always liked the CX4 Storm, despite it's somewhat ungainly appearance. They shoot very well, and have noticibly less felt recoil than most of the other pistol caliber carbines I've shot. But 1249%?! That's gotta be a typo!

I'm sure that Ruger is doing well now that they are selling Kel-Tec Clones.

just out of curiosity, how do you know that demand for the SR-556 is so low? here in Alabama you're EXTREMELY lucky to get one for under the MSRP. and i have a friend who works at Academy Sports who said that in the last month theyve gotten 5 of the SIGs and 3 SR-556s and all 8 rifles sold the same day they were on the shelf except for one SIG which took less than a week still.

I can say with confidence that one of the main drivers behind Ruger's sales is the LCP. The demand for this model has been massive. The new LCR is popular too but nowhere near as much as the LCP. Ruger also released the SR-556 but the prices really fallen off on them - dealers are almost giving them away at cost because the demand is so low.

Just when you thought things were cooling down. I guess that only applies to ammo and AR related products, I guess pistols are still pretty good sellers.

I am glad to hear that Beretta's PX4 and CX4 are doing well. They are probably the 2 most underrated guns in the states. My wife, who is very recoil sensitive, is easily able to put body hits with either gun. I have seen PX4 make body hits on a target past 100 yards (not every shot, though) in capable hands.
It is also great to see Ruger, an American company, doing well. They have been innovating and they should see the fruits of that. They are also very supportive of the 2nd Amendment cause. Given discounts to trainers and contributing to many 2A related causes.
