The British SA80 is a well built 223 Bulpup design which has been battle field tested by our English brothers.
It is a good choice if your looking for a 223 varmit rifle.
Not too good for anything else beside people & varmits.

Keltec RFB in 308 (7.62*51mm) is a hot little shooting Iron that will put down any creature that can be found in North America.

I know if the RFB sell well, that there will be many accessory and after market products for this weapon like the Ruger 10/22 & mini-14.

RFB seems to be a well designed rifle that is based on a wonderful cartridge that can handle pressures well over 50,000 psi.

I would be interested in rebuilding one of these baby’s to handle some very hot .260 Rem. 3400-3700 fps with 100g-120g bullet screaming through a 24″ bulk chrome molly barrel.

I am getting excited just thinking about it.
What an amazing semi auto flat shooting iron this will be.

Note: Barrel twist is determined correctly based on
pressure-projectile size & bullet weight.

Beta Drums fit….

There are many local guys throughout NY that do a re-barrel lining in .308 base cartridges; RFB barrel relined to your favorite (cartridge) caliber.

.243 Winchester, .260 Remington (aka 6.5-08 A-Square), the 7 mm-08 Remington, .338 Federal, .358 Winchester

Same Cartridge size different size hole/tip.
Clip are all the same.

Does anyone have any recommendations were to get high grade after market barrel for the RFP.
A wonderful weapon that I want to build on.

Well I’ll be definately getting one of these, probably the 24″ barrel. This looks great and for the quality I think 1.8k is a fair price

Joseph, I just write about guns! Kel-Tec is the manufacturer. As far as I know they do not have plans to make it in .223. I suspect they do not want to compete with all of the .223 / 5.56 bullpups on the market.

If it’s slowing the round back down, then it’s not being optimal to the ballistics of the round, and therefore would be less accurate… wouldn’t you think?

This is a really interesting concept. I get why ejecting out the front is needed, with the action back near your body. Only thing is, what if that tube jams? It’s gotta be hard to clear if a split case gets or mud or something gets lodged in there. The videos i see of this thing show the cases trickling out slowly. They don’t look like they’re pushed out with any force. Would that tube fill up and jam the next round if you were firing at an upward angle?

There are 18, 24, 32 barrel lengths. 32″ version comes with a some other stuff like a 6 way adjustable trigger.

barrel length is only one part of the equation when it comes to asking if the bullet will get slowed down while in the barrel. The other part is the loading and pressur levels of the cartridge itself.

32″ is not even close to too long for the standard .308 cartridges out there (it is a high pressure cartridge).
now, if you shoot subsonic ammo, you might have that problem, but the whole point of a 32″ barrel is to shoot special loads that take advantage of the extra barrel length, not to shoot wimpy loads.

There are supposed to be 18″, 24″, 26″, and 32″ barrel lengths available (eventually). 16″ barrel on the RFB would make it an SBR (short barrel rifle) since the overall length would then be too short.

I agree that something in the 22-24″ range would be excellent as well, but I’d definitely grab one of the 18-inchers myself if I had the cash. I’ve read numerous reviews (and AGI’s GunTech mag is doing a thorough test as well) that really praise the trigger and all around comfort of the gun.

The last range report I read showed pretty solid accuracy at a hundred yards, even for a short barrel. I really do hope I can get my hands on a carbine and write my own report someday

Fox, the current model shipping is the 18″ carbine. The long barrel may slow it down but it is designed for target shooting, not hunting or tactical.

I really like the design, but Kel-Tec needs to offer more barrel length options. 16 or 32… so, too short or too long for good accuracy. There seems to be some questions rolling around if 32 is actually so long that it no longer increases fps, but rather passes the top of the bell-curve and starts to slow it.
