The Army has asked for a variable power non-lethal that works from 5-400 meters. This looks great for shorter range...but they also asked that the launcher not be able to shoot lethal rounds or look like it can to prevent escalation. Like to see an article about that...

Also check out the EOTech Sage sight, it is WAAAAY faster than moving anything anywhere. Wedge the guy into the curves and pull the trigger. Beretta owns Benelli and Burris with their Eliminator Laser Scope, but there seems to be a mechanical adjustment to the weapon that still has to be done which the optical ranging process does. Excellent package!

Anyone have an idea of amount of ammo the shotgun will carry?

Any idea how much time between shots with an integrated laser rangefinder?

Good observations.

Anyone have an idea of number of batons the shotgun will hold? They state a range of 230 feet yet in the test, the speed was more than the 50 feet test.

I bet this is due site alignment error. Also, this may indicate a range in excess of 230 feet.

Anyone have an idea of speed of firing? Would the integrated laser rangefinder increase distance changing speed?

Good observations.

Anyone have an idea of number of batons it will hold? They state a range of 230 feet yet in the test, the speed was 230 mph which was more than the 50 feet speed of 211. Perhaps max range is further than 230 feet.

Perhaps the speed difference was due the manual adjusting inaccuracy.

With the integrated laser site mentioned, the speed and accuracy would be faster and more accurate if working properly. How quickly do you think you could repeat firing?

EmptorMaven, I did wonder about that. Cost could be a factor. Also this is much more simple and less chance of an error because it is manual not automatic. An error in calculating the distance could easily result in a kill.

Steve, good insight and analysis!

I wonder why they don't just use an integrated laser rangefinder in the scope, along the lines of the Bushnell Yardage Pro?

Hmmm. Interesting concept. I have a buddy who did a little time in Attica and he told me when there was trouble in the yard or the dining area they would get shot at with rubber bullets by the guards. He said he was never hit but those who were usually bled and went down fast. :|

Stories from the big-house always make me thankful to God that I never went down those dark paths.

It looks to me like there's a puff coming out from right under the sight/computer thing, a bit forward of the action, so I'd guess it's venting from the barrel right there.
