I came up with this exact idea years ago, but I never got it patented! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! Worst $5000 I never spent...

I was gonna call mine "The Snapshot" and market it as an insurance policy for police and civilians in righteous shooting scenarios. "My client clearly could not tell that the victim was reaching for his wallet, as these photographs taken at the moment of the shooting clearly confirm."

Not sure how I feel about it. If the evidence it captures reduces your liability, this is far cheaper than attorney's fees and damages. If, on the other hand, it contradicts your perception of a self-defense moment, or takes an unflattering image of some sort for the jury, or whatever, this could present a real problem for you.

As far as use for hunting...a cheaper alternative to the scope cameras, and maybe here you get what you pay for. No zoom, no precise bore alignment, so I'm not sure what kind of images you'll really get. They have these for mounting where you put a balancer on a bow, to take video when game comes by. Those are pretty cool. I'd imagine for handgun activities, this could be similarly satisfying...rifles? I dunno.
