I saw and held one of these at the last gun show I went to.

The grip is cool! It feels like a really fine sand paper and in my opinion, no grip alteration is needed for this weapon. I hear alot of folks saying things about the overall look of the Glock platform. I will admit the Glock doesn't add to the "Oh that's a Great lookin Gun" thing, but for defense and reliability, you can't do much better, regardless of the money. I've had my 23 for 15 years and if something goes down, its the first Gun I'm gonna reach for, no two ways about it. It has a military look to it, and if that was the intention from the start, I don't know, but I bought it for reliability and Self defense. So far, It was money well spent. I was offered $400.00 at this last show I went too, had no intention of sellin it of course, just wanted a rough estimate of its today's value. This 4th gen is on my list for purchase.

IMOP, Great weapon, Best 40 cal platform out there for under $600.00.

I'm a big fan of the Glocks, but these 4th generation models look terrible. I have a G23 on order and sure as hell hope one of those ugly 4th generations doesn't come in. What the hell where they thinking with the slide groves? It makes me think of some god awful eco friendly car design or something. Seriously, WTF Glock? 3rd gen rocks!

The chevrons of the slide look backwards, if it was meant specifically for gripping. It would like seen a shark with its teeth pointing forwards. Or worse yet, baseball shoes with the cleats mounted sideways....

I've seen and handled the new RTF2, and almost sold one today. The serrations don't offer much in the way of improvement, and whoever said they should be facing the other way is correct. That was one thing we all noticed when our 2 came into the shop.
One reason I haven't bought a Glock yet is because of the finger grooves on the grip. The 17/22 seem to fit fine, but I want something that can multitask - a range and carry weapon, and the 19/23 just feels awkward in my hand. The grooves on the RTF2 are more low profile than the original and the grip just feels better. If the RTF2 ends up on a 19/23 frame, I'll be one of the first in line. That is, if I don't go find a 2nd Generation first.

OK THIS IS NOT A FAKE GEN 4 GLOCK.I JUST PURCHASED ONE TODAY AT A LOCAL GUN STORE IN ALABAMA.IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE GLOCK PICTURED.GLOCK HAS ONLY MADE THE NEW GEN 4 IN THE MOD 22 SO IF YOU SEE ANY OTHER MOD. THEN IT IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT IT WOULD BE FAKE BUT THIS ONE IS REAL.YOUR LOCAL GUN STORES SHOULD BE GETTING THEM IN STOCK SOON!!NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE GLOCK 22 EXCEPT THE BACK OF THE SLIDE AND THE GRIP AS SEEN IN THE PICTURE ABOVE.

The pistol may very well be authentic, but the photo is suspicious. If you use the "dodge" tool to lighten the word in question, it clearly looks like "A.SRA" -- I see no "U" and no "I" in the word when enhanced. I played with the logos as well and nothing I did changed them from mere suggestions. Focus doesn't explain it either. If you zoom in on the image, the nap of the carpet is not uniformly sharply focused, while much of the gun is reasonably in focus, so the fault is not with depth of field. Parts of the image have simply been heavily blurred.

The image may not have been photoshopped to deceive, but I agree it's been worked on, and clumsily at that.

TNEWS FLASH++++++They are very real. My buddy owns one and is already trying to sell it already. It's so funny how much efforts has been invested in disbelieve. Too bad it was a hoax because I fail to see the improvement by Glock...That said move on with out speculation. You just sound ignorant and this will be reinforced with more evidence that surfaces... Love my GEN 3. Gen 4 sucks something fierce!! Check out H&K for on going "real improvements" in a poly based auto....See phoenix backpage under sporting equipment...Only 900.00 and there is a bunch of pics (not doctored) Sorry to burst your bubble.

Speaking as a photographer, you guys are all missing one vital point about that photograph. It is focused on the carpet, not the top surface of the pistol. The whole top of the thing is out of focus, which is giving rise to all the "can't see x" comments.

I wish they'd get rid of the #2 source of Glock-specific complaints: the palm swell on the butt. Yes it can be dealt with, with adequate training. The #1 complaint of course is they are ugly black plastic pistols, but that does not seem to bother Glock very much.

The I in Austria is present, as are both GLOCK logos (on the slide and the grip - click on them and look at the large pic), this does not look like a shop to me. Also, I wouldn't knock the new "fish gill" serration until I've felt it, and I'd think having them pointing the other direction would make the fingers more liable to slip off, but it really depends on the angle the serrations are cut at. If they are slightly "jagged" instead of flat against the body then they might give a pretty good grip. I still think the GLOCK is ugly, but I can see that they might be trying to get away from straight lines a little bit, which is a good change of direction IMHO.

Is it just me, or should the "fish gills" be facing the opposite way?

Their purpose is to provide increased grip so you can manipulate the slide. The "gills" are facing the way you would be pulling.

Wouldn't grip be improved with them facing the opposite way?

If this is the new Glock, then Glock dropped the ball by not putting anything up by the barrel. While this might not appear to be a big thing on the surface, if you have ever done any type of drills in which you have to manipulate the slide with one hand (simulating an injury to the other) it is much easier working with the front of the slide.

IMHO this has to be photoshopped since:
- The detail on the grip is visible but the glock symbol isn't
- Austria is spelled wrong
- The fish scales have a shiny metallic aspect to them (glock would never do this)
