Kimber Model 8400 Police Tactical

New for 2009 is the Kimber Model 8400 Police Tactical chambered in .300 Win. Mag. The rifle is designed with military and law enforcement in mind.

The previous Kimber tactical rifles based on the 8400 action got good reviews and I expect this one will not be any different.

I will update this post as more information becomes available.

Just bought one, Fired Hornady sst 180 grain rounds through it. Very impressed. The only thing I can say is that the action of the bolt seemed like it was a bit catchy and could have been smoothed out. So if you needed to engage multiples with it you may want to really sit and practice the bolt movement or you may be missing opportunities. Other than the bolt this rifle is extremely accurate and has enough weight to downsize the recoil of the massive 300 win mag. Held one inch at 500m all day in optimal conditions. 18*f,wind 0 value. would have stretched the legs more but 500m was the largest track of straight land I could secure. Trijicon 5-20×50 Accupoint optics with combat reticle was used.

Kimber makes some great firearms. I know several predator hunters who have and love their Kimber’s. As a southpaw I always end up buying Savages or Remington’s.

I look forward to reading more about it as the field test reviews come out.
