Too bad that Colt's new SCW' folding stock will dump the magazine when the stock is fully extented, buttplate is down, and the stock is hinged forward to the left. This most likely carry state that will enable the stock to be rapidly deployed. The large button that locks the buttplate hits the ambidextrous mag release with the slightest tap. Colt's sales force does not want to hear about it. Their reply is that "training will solve all problems!"

Thanks! It took me 15 minute to built the upper. The YHM screw in gas block save a lot of time compare to the pin version. I currently have 4 AR in my collection. However I do have a ton of AR receiver I collected over the year. My next project will be SBR AR.

Small arms development are moving toward quick change barrel. The AR needs it.

Anyway I really like the LR-300-AXL.

jdun, great photos!

The new Colt IAR has what appears to be a quick,or relatively quick, change barrel. Maybe someone will copy the design and sell it to civilians.

Piston AR is a fad. Get the LR-300-AXL at least the stock can be folded.

The next generation AR need a way to change the barrel fast, ie less then 30 seconds. My latest AR built allows me to change the barrel in five minutes. It use YHM front sight gas block that use screws instead of a pin. It still take too long tho because I have to take unscrew the free floating rail locking ring (YHM rail) and screws. If I went with Daniel Defense I might be able to do it around 3 minutes.

Here my upper I built two months ago. The upper is all YHM parts except for the flash hinder (Vortex). The low was taken from one of my AR15 carbine.
