This what happen when free market have their ways. Mini-14 is all but dead. Ruger trying to it best to keep it alive tho. They were forced to make hi-cap mag for the min-14 and other firearms.

The promotion offering Mini-14 20rd mags sounds really good. Problem is that they immediately sold out. Seems no one has been able to make quality, sure-functioning, high capacity magazines for these rifles accept Ruger. Seems like a great marketing opportunity. The ones Ruger has sold for $29-95 are now found various places on-line for $50-$60 each.
