As a person who has used and been hit by one, I know that is impossible to load a leathal round into the shotgun. My department has tested it many diffrent ways and it is not possible.

This shotgun ONLY fires taser rounds... "The TASER X12 LLS includes TASER Radial Ammunition Key technology (patent pending) to prevent the system from accepting lethal 12-gauge rounds in order to remove the possibility of end users loading a lethal round in a less-lethal system during high stress situations."

Dear all....I have looked at your system, it is the way forward for non leathal tatics, however, am I correct in thinking that it is not a stand alone system and there would be backing call signs/cover operatives to give immediate support should the situaton require that level of responce?

As a former member of the UKSFCT.....EMOE, utilising shootguns, unders exacting conditions, I have always known the state of my weapons systems (battle discipline).

To mix leathal and non leathal ordinace is not good discipline; and highlights that any agency not affording due consideration to this, really requires additional training and development.

Kindest regards,

D-M

The guy running the shotgun would still need to actually look at the magazine. (And there would need to be enough light to see what rounds there are at a glance, not necessarily a given.) Average cop, high-stress situation... "I'm sure I still have taser rounds in the magazine! Uh, oops. Guess not."

Perhaps it's just me, but mixing less-lethal and lethal ammunition in the same gun just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. (When you crank up the stress level enough people start doing all sorts of weird things they would not do when calm... Makes me a K.I.S.S. sort of guy. :) )

I think they need a transparent magazine so you can see what is inside the magazine. The taser round looks way different to regular rounds.

<i>"I think a regular shotgun loaded with a couple of XREP projectiles followed by shot makes more sense for cops. That way if the fancy electronic projectiles fail they have a backup."</i>

Umm... And what happens when the guy with the shotgun mistakenly thinks he still has one taser round left before lethal ammunition, and mistakenly shoots someone with buckshot when he meant to only zap them? Me thinks this a bad idea.
