All they've done here is to essentially counterfeit the research done by the folks at Crye Precision. They developed their own pattern, but based it entirely off the exact colors used in MultiCam (to get around any patent issues).

Crye Precision's studies revealed that the yellow-brown end of the spectrum reflected ambient lighting much better than any other colors. Ever noticed that there simply aren't any green deer? You'd think that if green made for effective camouflage, that the woods would be crawling with green critters. In fact almost all mammals have evolved to colors in that yellow-brown portion of the spectrum. Outside of insects and other small creatures trying to mimic a single leaf, green simply doesn't work.

For the ultimate camouflage, check out MultiCam. It's great stuff!

MOSSY OAK IS BY FAR THE BEST CAMO EVER MADE IN MY OPINION I HAVE EVER PATTERN FOR EVERY SEASON. THE TREESTAND PATTERN JUST PUT THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN FOR A BUNCH OF DEER IN THE WINTER HERE IN ARKANSAS.

The fading is not due to Mossy Oak or the Pattern. Fading is a result of the manufacturer and their printing/bonding process.

If it was one of the lesser known brand names, they might not be using premium materials or manufacturing. There is something to be said in "you get what you pay for".

If it was Mossy Oak Apparel, Cabela's, BPS, Scent-Lok, Scentblocker, Rocky, or any of the other reputable manufacturers.. give them a call. If you paid more, you should get what you paid for. *wink*

I love this pattern, however, after recently purchasing it and hunting I noticed a marked fading of the design after just two washes. I compared it to a new set I had yet to wear, or wash, and the pattern obviously lost much of its definition.

I used scent free wash and I always turn my camo inside out to launder. I was really disappointed by how much contrast and detail was missing after just the two washes.

Realtree AP does look more effective, but it only gets darker when you're in the woods. I bought this camo a week ago because a guy told me that it only looks whitish in the store because it is absorbing light. so I bought it, I've hunted in pine trees, it turns greenish. I've hunted in oaks, it darkens to a brownish. AP looks more real, but Treestand actually seems to change color with it's surrounds, it is the best camo ever made.

I like the new lightness of it. Even though I have had great success with MO and MONBU, taking both deer and turkey within 15 yards, it always seemed just a little 'dark'. It is hard to argue with success, so I have not switched brands and style. I'll have to see it in person, but this offering might make me rethink my hunting wardrobe.
