Now, as for one of my favorite sayings (quoted above by Yuri): I completely believe this to be true. Yes, in a perfect world we wouldn't have to worry about needing one; but this world is not, nor has it ever been, perfect. Nor is it likely to be any time soon, for that matter. The constant counterpoint to pacifism; yes, if everyone were a pacifist this would be a peaceful world. But the one guy that isn't will run rampant over the ones that are. I took it to mean that in a perfect world free of crime etc. etc. guns for self defense wouldn't be needed...
